The Secret Garden, Koh Rong | Review

The Secret Garden, is an idyllic hideaway on Koh Rong. Nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, the island has some of the most incredible scenery you could imagine and The Secret Garden is the perfectly situated to enjoy this natural beauty. The Secret Garden Koh Rong beachUpon arrival on Pagoda Beach you are immediately swept away by the aquamarine waters and soft white sand, The Secret Garden is located on this peaceful stretch of coastline. You will be greeted at the pier, where your bags will be transported to the resort for you. It’s a short walk along the beach to reach The Secret Garden, where a welcome drink and cold towel will be awaiting you – much needed in the Cambodian sunshine. The Secret Garden Koh RongThe resort bungalows are stretched across the sand, meaning you are only ever a few steps away from the water. There are three categories of bungalows; garden view, partial sea view and beachfront. All the bungalows are built in the local architectural style, boasting an outdoor shower area – such a treat in tropical climes. The Secret Garden Koh Rong Review The decor of the rooms is boho chic, which creates a very zen atmosphere. The beds are comfortable and you have all the amenities you could require. The resort also provides Kambio Nature toiletries which are made in Cambodia, organic and smell divine! I would highly recommend the beachfront option. Waking up and stepping outside directly on to the palm lined beach is blissful.Being located on a secluded beach is an absolute dream, however it does mean that dining options are limited. Fortunately, the food at The Secret Garden is wonderful. The extensive menu at the restaurant included local favourites, Asian fusion dishes and of course, fresh seafood. Every meal was delicious and we felt that there was ample variety during our stay.If you were to spend your days at The Secret Garden simply on a lounger, soaking up the sun rays with a fresh coconut in hand, I wouldn’t blame you. For more active guests, there is the opportunity to use the kayak and paddle boards which are complimentary to use. We took advantage of this and thoroughly enjoyed paddle boarding in paradise – the location really is great for these activities as the water is so calm. There is also the infinity pool with spectacular views of the sea to enjoy. Pool at The Secret GardenA stay at The Secret Garden, Koh Rong is the ultimate island getaway for me. The incredible beach and secluded setting of the resort is only further enhanced by the attentive and friendly service of the staff. With a speedboat going from Sihanoukville directly to Pagoda beach only taking 45 minutes, this idyllic island getaway is in easier reach than ever.

We stayed as guests of The Secret Garden, Koh Rong. However, as always, all photography and opinions are my own.

It’s actually Cambodia 🙂 I think I confused some people because the ocean is Gulf of Thailand. But it’s truly a wonderful island to visit.
