Located only a short distance from the Royal Palace complex, The Pavilion, Phnom Penh is a boutique hotel that provides an oasis from the bustling streets of the city. 
The reception area is in a charming 1920’s villa, which was Queen Kossamak’s former residence. The blend of Khmer architecture and French colonial influences provide a sense of refined elegance to the hotel.
The Room
The Private Pool Rooms are an ideal hideaway in the city.
The bedroom has a four-poster bed with mosquito netting, a daybed for lounging and all of the amenities you could require including minibar, iPod dock and drinks making facilities.
The room opens out directly onto the private patio and plunge pool, surrounded by lush tropical plants. There were two loungers and a table set which is perfect for relaxing in your own private sun trap.
The Food
Breakfast at The Pavilion is served in the beautiful surroundings of the poolside restaurant. 
There is a selection of cooked options alongside fruit, fresh juice, a pastry basket and tea and coffee.
I definitely enjoyed taking my morning coffee with this view.
Relax
Escaping the heat and relaxing by the pool after exploring Phnom Penh’s sights is a must. Even if you aren’t staying in a room boasting a private pool, there are two large swimming pools to choose from!
The Lush Pool is situated in front of the reception building, surrounded by tropical greenery with small cabanas set back from the pool. It’s a great place to enjoy a refreshing drink.
The Sun Pool is at the back of the hotel and as the name suggests, this is the spot to be if you want to soak up the rays! The area is beautifully designed with slate tiled basin and plenty of loungers available.
There is a small spa located in the hotel, offering a range of treatments. What better way to treat yourself than indulging in a massage?
The Pavilion, Phnom Penh offers a complimentary welcome massage, I found the experience to be really invigorating. We enjoyed drinking tea in the sun after the treatment.
This is especially great for anyone coming off a long flight or suffering from jet lag!
The Verdict
The Pavilion, Phnom Penh is ideally situated within walking distance of many of the city’s historical sites, yet maintains a tranquil and secluded atmosphere.
Once you enter the hotel, you feel like you have stepped out of the city and into a tropical oasis.
The staff are friendly and professional, the rooms are spacious with all the required amenities and the hotel buildings each have a distinctive character relating to their retrospective heritage.
If you’re visiting Phnom Penh, you’ve found your home from home.

I love the linen decorations. It makes the bedroom extra special. The housekeeping staff is doing an excellent job. The chairs at the poolside look cozy and beautiful. This is a nice and pleasant villa.

Every spot looks picture perfect! I especially love the bed with the wispy curtains – gauze maybe? We always travel with the kids and I’m sure the plumeria flowers would be a curiosity. We saw them in Hawaii and they smell SOOO good! Lovely place!

It looks like such an idyllic paradise to unwind after a long day roaming around Phnom Penh. I would love my very own swimming pool and I would never leave it. All the pictures of the hotel are gorgeous.

The Pavillon seems so serene and secluded, which is lovely for those trying to get away from the city, but yet are close enough for some historical visits. I love how secluded the pools are giving you some time to relax. The Pavillon looks absolutely gorgeous from your photos.

Cambodia is on my list of places to visit next year so I will keep this place in mind for when i’m in Phnom Pen. It looks lovely – the pool especially – so it may be a little out of my price range. Is it expensive in comparison to other hotels in Phnom Penh?

I definitely recommend Cambodia, I feel like it’s often overlooked for it’s neighbouring countries. It’s truly a beautiful place.
What would your budget be? There is certainly something for everyone. Having a private pool room is definitely a great treat and it’s around $100/night (including breakfast).
