As I said in my previous blog, I couldn’t wait to escape Bangkok and experience island life. We took the overnight bus (and ferry) from the city to Koh Samui, which ended up being much longer than we had anticipated.
It was totally worth it when we arrived on this beautiful island with white palm fringed beaches and glorious sunshine!
We stayed in a beautiful resort at the far end of Lamai beach. It is quite secluded and perfect for relaxing. Spending our days lounging on a cabana, walking on the beach and indulging in the most incredible food.
At one point, I thought it would be fun to try and climb a palm tree! It was, until I tried to get down…
We rented a motorbike to explore the island and visited Na Muang waterfall. We didn’t realise that you have to hike through the jungle to get to the falls, so it quite difficult for me as my sandals were not appropriate footwear. It was very beautiful, once we got to the top, though!
My tip for today; if you are short on time take a flight from BKK to Koh Samui, it will leave you with more time to explore this paradise island.

Awesome! I was in Koh Samui last year too, you did a great job writing about the journey! I also rented a motor bike, probably a highlight of my life!
That waterfall looks amazing!! Love reading your stories, never stop traveling!!

Hi,
Thanks so much for your comment. The waterfall was amazing – did you go to see it?
You’re brave to be on the motorbike, I can’t drive one haha.
