Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 | Review

Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 is a modern, chic and centrally located hotel. There are many great restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance and being only 500 meters from the Sky train and underground station on Sukhumvit – you have easy access to the rest of the city.

Live like a local

The suites at Maitria are spacious and feel very apartment-esque, with artwork on the walls and bright touches creating a welcoming space. Whether you want to relax and enjoy some room service or cook up a storm, each room has a sitting area and kitchen.

The downtown location of Maitria on a residential street, makes it a much more understated option than the riverside touristy hotels, giving guests the feeling that they are Bangkok natives.

Indulge 

Breakfast at Metro Cafe is included with the room and is a great start to the day. From fresh coffee to delicious baked goods, a cheese selection and eggs prepared to your liking, you’ll be left feeling energised and ready to explore the city.

Metta Eatery and Bar has an amazing ambience, great food and tasty twists on classic drinks! You can eat in the restaurant, order food to your room or up to the roof top. Be sure to try out one of their unique cocktails – my favourite was lemongrass mojito!

Rooftop vibes

Temperatures in the city are sometimes unbearably hot, so having a plunge pool on the roof of your hotel is a perfect escape from the heat.

The slate grey pool and sundeck is the perfect place to lounge around, enjoy a drink and relax away from the chaos of the city below. There is also a putting green on the roof for those who enjoy a game, or two.

Lifestyle Guru

The staff at this hotel really make your stay enjoyable, from the cute older guy who meets you at your car to the concierge at reception – aptly called Lifestyle gurus, who will help you with any queries you have. They have a wealth of knowledge about the city and offer great advice to help you make the most of your time in Bangkok

The Verdict
This downtown hotel offers understated luxury and exceptional service. Located in a great neighbourhood with easy access to other areas of the city, this makes a perfect base for exploring. The rooftop pool area is really a standout feature, with amazing views it’s the perfect place to soak up the sun and relax!
