La Rose Suites | Review

La Rose Suites is a luxurious boutique hotel in the heart of Phnom Penh. Located on a quiet street only a stones throw away from the Independence monument, La Rose Suites is a great base to both explore and escape the city.

A warm welcomeThe entrance to the property is through a pretty canopy of vines. This led up to the hotel lobby, which is decorated in a simple yet elegant style with beautiful flower arrangements and Khmer artworks adorning the room. The staff were professional and friendly, offering us with drinks and a towel to freshen up upon arrival. La Rose Suites creates a very calming, almost spa-esque atmosphere, which set the tone for the rest of the stay. One of my favourite aspects of this hotel is how you are greeted with a smile and ‘Welcome home’ each time you enter the hotel, it’s such a darling touch.

The Suite

The Junior Suite had views over the hotel’s tropical garden and swimming pool area below. The decor was in keeping with the theme of the hotel, an eclectic mix of ornate Khmer designs and elegant white linens.La Rose SuitesThe traditional wooden furniture really adds an exotic touch to the room, however there is no doubt bathroom is the standout feature.
The large waterfall stone bathtub was a unique design and perfect to create a spa like experience in your own room. The complimentary toiletries were lovely quality and replenished daily.Breakfast was included with the room and as a boutique hotel, La Rose Suites is able to offer a more bespoke service. Guests are able to eat breakfast in the restaurant any time between 7am and 10pm! I love this option – perfect for when you want to sleep in during a relaxing stay.Breakfast is served ale-carte and you are able to order both Khmer and Western cuisine. I opted for eggs, bacon and toast. However, I couldn’t resist a pastry with home made jam served with delicious coffee.

The Foundation

La Rose suites takes a strong stance on corporate social responsibility, with a mission to improve the lives of less fortunate individuals in the surrounding community.

They employ graduates from Pour un Sourire d’Enfant – “For a Child’s Smile”. This is an organisation that supports previously impoverished children to develop skills and provides opportunities to secure jobs which will ensure a better standard of living for themselves and their families.

I believe La Rose Suite’s commitment to promoting a child safe policy is a really important step forward for the hospitality sector in South East Asia, especially. I am thoroughly happy to support a business which is making a positive impact on the local community and striving to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

The Verdict

My stay at La Rose Suites was a wonderful experience from the moment I was greeted with ‘Welcome home’ by a member of staff. The suite was spacious and aesthetically pleasing, complimenting the tranquil atmosphere of the hotel. The unique bathroom provided me with a perfect excuse to pamper myself and was definitely a standout feature of the room.

I’d recommend La Rose Suites to anybody looking for a touch of luxury in Phnom Penh who also wants to support the local community.

The bathroom and bed look amazing, I never saw such a bathtub before. Yes the whole place looks perfect for Spa, Wellness and giving peace for the soul.
I am very curious how the Khmer cuisine looks like for the breakfast, but at least for the first breakfast I would probably also have enjoyed the Western one.

      Hi Henrik,

Khmer breakfast is very delicious. They have many different dishes, from noodles to rice soup. I do like to try this, but sometimes I want something a little sweet for breakfast too. Glad you liked the bathroom too – it’s very unique!

The canopy of vines at the entrance is so romantic. And the spa-like atmosphere you described makes the place sound so warm and welcoming. I especially love that La Rose Suites supports a foundation like Pour un Sourire dโ€™Enfant. It is so amazing that they are working hard to help the under privileged by teaching them skills that will help them find job opportunities. It is such a wonderful cause!

This looks like a fabulous property. The elegance looks fantastic but I really love their attention to service and the community. That is the difference between a nice stay and an unforgettable experience.

I like how they have built the surroundings to assimilate with nature. I saw the first half of the first photograph and thought it is some abandoned building. Then I scrolled down and saw the lovely door. he he…
