Relaxing at Railay beach.

Dramatic limestone cliffs, emerald waters and a relaxed vibe. Railay is definitely one of Krabi’s nicest beaches.Whether you are spending a day there or staying in the area, you’ll be whisked away by the natural beauty of this beach and imposing limestone cliffs. However, I had been warned before visiting that this place gets incredibly crowded, so I was slightly apprehensive because my favourite kind of beach is one that is deserted.

I was pleasantly surprised, we spent a morning chilling, sipping on a fresh coconut and swimming in the warm ocean and the beach? It was pretty quiet!

We had lunch at a beachfront restaurant that provided stunning views of the cliffs and sea, as well as serving up some of the most delicious Thai seafood I’ve had.Longtail boats line up along the shore to transport people between Railay and Ao nang. This is a classic picture from Thailand, that I couldn’t resist capturing. We hopped on one of these after lunch when the beach started to get super busy, ten minutes later we were back in Ao nang.

Where: Railay Beach, Krabi.

Cost: From Ao nang it’s ฿200 for a round trip on a longtail boat, to the beautiful beach of Railay.

My tip: Go early in the morning and you will be able to relax and soak up the sun without hordes of tourists. Don’t forget to snag a shady spot, incase the sun gets too hot!

Which is your favourite beach in Thailand?
